Extracts are the refined, pre extracted form of the dyestuff, meaning it has already been extracted from the raw material and reduced into a powder. This makes them more soluble, quicker and more concentrated. There is no need to simmer the extract to bring out ts colour. That part has already been done. They are much more concentrated, so you only need 5-8% WOF for a medium - strong depth of shade. This is a great way to use natural dyes, especially when needing a more consistent result for larger quantities of fabric and are used in commercial applications with great results.
